Description
Hudson 5422, decorated with the company's oval emblem below her smokebox number plate, heads into Broadway interlocking at the west exit of Central Union Terminal with the 19 cars of no. 135, a New York-Chicago mail train. The pair of tracks in the foreground are the freight bypasses, which skirt the terminal between Broadway tower on the west and Wabash tower on the east, a distance of eight-tenths of a mile.
