Description
This bridge at C.B. Junction, Pa., carries the NYC line between Cherry Tree and Clearfield (known as the 'C.B. Line') over U.S. Highway 322, a branch of the PRR, and the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The NYC has trackage rights over the B & O from C.B. Junction to Clearfield, 62 miles, and uses these as an integral part of its Cherry Tree-Clearfield-Newberry Junction route. These trackage rights also extend west from C.B. Junction to Falls Creek, but this segment is not presently used, as the Lackawanna coal is being moved via Jersey Shore and Corning to the main line at Lyons instead of via Ashtabula. In this scene, the Cherry Tree-Newberry extra waits for the signal from the B&O operator at C.B. Junction.
