Description
These photographs and those on the two pages following constitute a memorial to steam as exemplified by classic NYC power. They were taken at the DeWitt coaling station in the final year of operations at that facility. Hudsons 5452 and 5214 lead off, with the 5452 being hostled into position to leave for the depot to handle local no. 156 to Albany. This great speed queen was equipped with a streamlined shroud and was assigned to the 'Century' throughout most of her career.
