Description
Budd car M-458 heads north at Roots as train no. 609 on the Syracuse-Watertown-Massena run. The operator will give orders addressed to the 'C and E' to the conductor on the rear end, authorizing their train to run over the southbound main track from Roots to Philadelphia (due to National Guard movements on the northbound main) and to pass the block station at Evans Mills without receiving Clearance Form A. This train has been discontinued, along with all other passenger service north of the 'Waterlevel Route' main line.
