Adams Center is a rural community on the Syracuse Massena line (main line of the so-called. 'North Country'), seven miles south of Massey yard in Watertown. It was formerly a block station at the south end of the double track out of Watertown, and here symbol freight ND-2 bound from Massena to DeWitt yard in Syracuse heads onto the single track with a respectable 61 loads and 65 empties behind GP-7s 5763-5762-5764. The day operator waits with train orders for the conductor while the head brakeman climbs aboard with the engineer's copies.
