At the left above is engine 3134 with her cut of hot freight, shown on the preceding page, about to enter the eastbound receiving yard( center background), where the cars will stand until a brace of diesel switchers begins shoving them over the hump. The 3134 is about to pass diesel switcher no.856 pulling a cut of empties out of the westbound advance yard, in which the long strings of freight in the right background are standing. Eight-wheel switchers no's.7371 and 7839 are also visible working this yard, while no.7562 (white plume behind the diesel's cut) waits for a clear track to the engine terminal. The two tracks at extreme right are for mainline passenger.
