Title

#1069 leading Train SBH-2

Subject

Diesel Freight Train

Description

Eastbound road freights made up in Days yard depart in either easterly or westerly directions, depending on whether they run via the Falls Road or the Falls Branch. Trains operated the long way around via Black Rock and East Buffalo (for the sake of picking up at those points) leave the yard headed west, and then pull through Lockport street yard before heading east (actually, south) on the Falls Branch. One of these movements is shown above; it is SBH-2, picking its way through the ladder and lead tracks at the west end of Lockport Street yard. The Alcos are nos. 1069-3345-1070, and the consist out of Days yard was 77 cars. The rear end is in the vicinity of Sugar Street bridge, which is clearly visible in the background in this shot from Lockport Street bridge.
