Description
This is a Lackawanna westbound freight about to cross over the Pennsylvania tracks at Horseheads on the bridge pictured on the previous page. The snorting locomotive on the head-end is 4-8-4 no.1650,working hard to get up speed only a few miles out of the division yards at Elmira; there were 62 high cars in the train, and another caboose was in the conventional position at the rear.
