Description

This little depot and block station is at Truro, ten miles southeast of West Columbus yard on the main line to Corning, Hobson, Charleston, Dickinson, and points south. The southbound freight, six cars behind geep no. 5663, is the Columbus-Baltimore turnaround local. He has the block to Pickerington, a single-trick station eight miles down the line. Although Truro is close to the southern reaches of Columbus, the immediate area here is rural except for a large grain elevator behind the camera, on the west side of the tracks. The railroading is “rural”, too, as one might infer from the building, its appurtenances, and the grassy condition of the right of way.
