Diesel Passenger Train

The easterly limit of the city of Syracuse is just west of the Thompson Road Bridge over the NYC passenger mains, and from this vantage point we see the westbound Empire State Express passing the well-known muck fields as it heads for the depot downtown. Since the right-of-way through Syracuse was sold for a highway project, only a single freight lead remains here to serve industries in the Peat Street area on the east side.
