Diesel Passenger Train

Number 8 pulls away from Schenectady depot in this sequel to the preceding photograph. The buildings at State Street yard have been retired, and the tracks have been removed with the exception of a connection to the D & H and the scale track. Industrial and interchange traffic at Schenectady are now handled entirely at Sand Bank yard, about one and a half miles west and across the Mohawk River.
