From the south windows of the New Mohawk Hotel in Schenectady, the view takes in the main lines of both the Delaware and Hudson (two tracks in foreground) and New York Central. On the latter, E-8 units 4056 and 4051 idle on main track 2 during the station stop of no. 8, the 'Wolverine' from Chicago and Detroit to New York, with the rear sleeper of no. 35, a New York-Chicago worker, adjacent on track 1. Between track 1 and the D&H mains are freight mains 3 and 4 and the lead to State Street yard.
