Title

Rear end of train ND-1 with bay window caboose

Subject

Freight Train

Description

Looking west from SK interlocking, the view includes the east end of the westbound receiving yard and, nearest the camera, thoroughfare tracks 4 and 6 which bypass the yard on the south. ND-1, out of New York with 25 loads and 104 empties, is being yarded on track 3. In addition to its 1953 functions, SK now controls the junction of the Hudson and B & A Division freight tracks just across the Hudson River at 'SM', and also the interlocking further east at Post Road on the B & A where the passenger main diverges towards Albany.
