As this album comes to its end, we leave East Syracuse, N.Y., to the 126 tune of shouting whistles and clanking drawbars, hoping to return before the age of diesels, with the disenchantment of its standardization and internal power, removes the real drama from the scene. Our thoughts and hopes are given emphasis by the action shot above, taken of one of the Central's redoubtable Mohawks blasting out of town westbound with over a mile of freight tugging at her coupling.
