Description

Above is the engine-inspection building at East Syracuse, referred to nine pages back in this album. Locomotives are sent here after refueling and dumping of ashes, and are given a thorough pit-inspection and lubrication; they are then backed around to the outgoing engine tracks, ready for the road again. The four Mohawks above have been inspected, and await hostlers for movement elsewhere. They are, left to right: no.3126, class L-4b; no.3041, class L-3b; no.3149, class L-4b, and no.2765, class L-2a. The four tracks in the foreground constitute the freight belt line out of DeWitt Yards.
