Description
Begrimed no. 2936 above, a class L-2d engine, differs very little from her 'cousin' of class L-2c, the 2803 just pictured. Both have the following specifications: cylinders, 27x30 in.; drivers, 69 in.; pressure, 225 lbs.; tractive force, 60, 620 lbs., plus 12,400 lbs. from booster; and builder, Alco in 1929. The 2936 is 1900 lbs. heavier, and has a Coffin feedwater heater sunk into the top of her smokebox in the fashion of the J-ls, which she resembles a great deal. Sister-engine 2933 has been saved from the torch, and will be preserved at Selkirk along with the 999 for exhibition purposes.
