Description
Not far west of the previous vantage point a footbridge crosses Airline Junction Yard, and this photograph and the following two were taken from the bridge. To the left of the main tracks on 3 Main is a Danbury extra, F7 units 1762-1763 with 99 empty hoppers for limestone loading on the Lakeside and Marblehead Railroad. Next, on track 4 in the "hole," is CB-2, with Alco units 1087-3366-1112 and 105 cars; this is an Elkhart-Buffalo train, but the headend group seen here will be set out at Rockport Yard on the west side of Cleveland. The cars in the background are in "Detroit" yard, another of Airline's six separate satellite yards. The MC main tracks run just north of this yard.
