Title

Back-to-back GP-9s on Stanley extra, three headed mast semaphore signal in view

Subject

Diesel Freight Train

Description

The morning sun has begun to make its presence felt at River Rouge as GP-7s 5639 and 5660 lead a Stanley extra off the Junction Yard branch onto the southbound Toledo branch main track. This train departed from Junction Yard with 56 cars and picked up 25 more off one of the two so called "Graveyard" tracks, which lie between the Toledo branch mains at River Rouge. In this photograph, YD tower is in plain view beyond and to the right of the northbound main and the Marsh branch track. The superstructure of River Rouge drawbridge looms in the distance between the smokestack and water tank.
