Title

Train VG on track3

Subject

Steam Freight Train

Description

It is a common sight to see two and even three trains passing simultaneously on this busy four-track artery. Here is extra 3142 west, a train made up of mostly empties in Selkirk Yard southwest of Albany, passing extra 2796 east with mostly loaded cars out of DeWitt. The former train is powered by the Central's latest Mohawk type, a dual-service L-4b class engine with the usual "dog-ear" smoke deflectors and 42 1/2-ton coal tank.
