Title

PRR class I-1s pushing caboose #20375

Subject

Steam Freight Train

Description

A powerful Pennsylvania I-1s class Decapod, no. 4378, shoves the NYC diesel out of Southport, its front coupler locked with that of a brand new Central bay-window caboose (built by St. Louis Car Co. in February, 1952). Engine 4378 will push as far as Himrod Junction, some 35 miles, where this drag will be switched onto the NYC's Pennsylvania Division for the run up to the main line at Jordan. Most of the train is already on Erie iron, which it will use for some three miles to HO Tower at Horseheads.
