Subject

Infrastructure

Description

This is 21st Street interlocking, remotely controlled from B Tower, looking toward the west. The main tracks, connected here by universal crossovers and signalled in both directions, are on the right. The track at center comes from the eastbound departure yard and continues east as the eastbound fast freight (many movements use the long crossover in the foreground to reach the mains at this point). On the left is the receiving yard, paralleled on this side by a running track for light engines extending from Oakland Avenue to the hump.
