Description
We now shift all the way from the western extreme of the Buffalo Division at Bayview to its eastern limit at tower 46, and begin a second picture-journey westward, this time over the Gardenville branch. The track layout around tower 46 is complex, but we have a passing acquaintance with it from the first picture in this album. The two sets of double tracks here, which converge below the tower to form the Gardenville branch, are the West Shore connection on the left and the main line connection on the right. The train coming off the West Shore bound for Gardenville is 1/LS-1, the New York-Chicago forwarder hotshot, whose 101 cars trail Alco units 1084-3353-1085. The main line runs on the fill next to the tower (Buffalo is to the left). There is a road running alongside it, which explains the mystery of the truck apparently crossing the railroad bridge.
